At Wendelbo, the Scandinavian design mindset has been passed down through three generations of the Wendelbo family. Even after more than six decades since its first launch, Wendelbo’s furniture products are still committed to quality, combining modern and elegant design ideas and impeccable craftsmanship.

Earlier this year, Wendelbo launched a new product line that served as perfect exhibition space at home, helping to create more inspiration for work-from-home experiences. Not stopping there, Wendelbo introduces a new furniture line for common spaces for office, public, education, and hospitality settings.

In response to a world filled with noise and distraction, Wendelbo, in collaboration with German designer Sebastian Herkner, has created Case – a high back sofa collection offering calmness, concentration and comfort.

With a simple and sculptural exterior combined with a soft interior, Case forms a protective cocoon where the sitter can focus on work or take time out. At the same time, Case brings a sense of intimacy and sculptural elements to the public space, just as the combination of textile and wood adds an elegant tactile feel to the environment.

Sebastian Herkner’s attention to detail as well as his intuitive sense for materials and proportions are expressed in a new collaboration with Wendelbo. The internationally renowned German designer has once again created a contemporary yet very personal furniture piece.

With the Case highback sofa collection, the sought-after designer also demonstrates his ability to give a large piece of furniture a light visual expression without compromising on either comfort or function.

Case is both work and privacy furniture – a piece of furniture that serves as a room inside the room and which, by virtue of its high back and side elements, offers calmness and an experience of being shielded from the surroundings. Available in a range of sizes, the sofa has a slender, light appearance despite its generous dimensions.

Narrow, padded elements meet like a folded piece of paper. A similarly slender seat floats in the construction, creating a dynamic tension. The entire frame is balanced on narrow wood sled legs to further enhance the design.

Inside, the sofa is equipped with softly rounded seat and back cushions, loose cushions and padded side cushions. The result is a light sofa enclosed by a protective shield.

To further elevate and lighten the impression, Sebastian Herkner has added an elegant detail to the exterior back, which folds under the sofa. This approach to the design interrupts the monumental look while also creating an oblique angle inside that forms the sofa’s backrest.

Viewed from behind, the folded back gives the sofa a sculptural dimension. The fold also reveals the complexity of the construction, making the side elements appear even more slender.

Case is an ideal piece of furniture for office landscapes, waiting areas or hallways that require a space for solitude and retreat. It can stand on its own or be arranged in seating groups as required.

A small round table can be added to the sofa, allowing users to set up a laptop, put down a phone, a notepad or perhaps a cup of coffee. Case is suitable as a private sphere for confidential conversations where annoying noise is shut out.

Case is available in a wide range of textiles.
