Quy Nhon’s beaches have been described as some of the best in Vietnam. But the city’s charms extend well beyond its stretches of sand. There are sleepy streets lined with tranquil cafes, acoustic nights, and seafood dinners. But to slow the pace even more, try some of the most renowned spas in Quy Nhon.
Three Spas to try in Quy Nhon
Quy Nhon has a number of rejuvenating health centers whose well-trained teams pamper their guests. And there’s a spa for every budget, from city center massages to days-long wellness retreats. Added to that, spas here have the latest beauty treatment technology and products. Here are three spas in Quy Nhon to try.
Anantara Quy Nhon Villas Wellness Resort
The Anantara Spa and Wellness Resort has a simple goal—to become the best in Vietnam, spa manager Ranjithsaj Malayil tells us. The wellness practitioner has ancient Ayurvedic medicine in his DNA. His grandfather was an ayurvedic doctor in Kerala, India, the state where he was born.
The location of this wellness resort is helping him to achieve that goal. Shaded paths wind through the resort’s peaceful garden to the treatment rooms which look out onto the private cove where fishermen paddle out in coracle boats to inspect their catch and waves lap against pristine golden sand.
Although the natural sanctuary is easily accessible to guests of both the Avani and neighboring Anantara Villas Resort by buggy, the entrance off the coastal road 1D that snakes down to Phu Yen also welcomes outside guests.
The first Anantara property was created in Hua Hin, Thailand and so the chain also have the Southeast Asian country’s wellness philosophies built into their spa centers. Treatments like their Anantara Signature Massage that lasts 90 minutes and promotes a deep sense of relaxation, or their Traditional Thai Ritual, a pressure point massage that employs “unique and exotic” techniques.
Now added to that are “wellness journeys”, the extended holistic treatments that aim to harmonize mind, body, and soul. The Spiritual Tranquility Program, for example, is a three-day blend of yoga, treatments, and wellness cuisine. And for the more committed wellness voyager, there is also a five-day purification program with meditation, detoxifying treatments, yoga and tai chi. Added to that, the resort invites guest practitioners to offer their wellness services at the spa or in guest villas and rooms.
Where: Anantara Quy Nhon Villas, Bai Dai, Ghenh Rang, Binh Dinh Province
Recommended treatment: The Anantara Signature Massage (90 minutes/VND3,200,000) or the immersive five-day Holistic Health Renewal Program (VND19,000,000).
Zen Spa
Zen Spa, right in the center of town, was opened by Nguyet Nguyen, former finance lecturer at Quy Nhon University. She’s applying all her knowledge of business and finance, to her fledgling spa chain. And already with three floors of treatment rooms and twenty trained staff, Nguyet is looking at expanding with more wellness centers in Quy Nhon. But Zen Spa is far more than a well-run business. They offer some of the best massages in town, as well as a range of beauty treatments in tranquil surroundings despite its central location.
Inside, Zen Spa is immaculately clean. Staff welcome you with a soothing tea and a menu of treatments that include herbal baths and saunas, Thai, Swedish, and mixed technique massages, done with oil or warm herbal compress. The team were trained by a specialist from Thailand whose techniques are maintained by an in-house trainer.
Zen Spa attracts a mixture of guests, but around 70% are from Korea and Japanese, according to Nguyet. Besides the massage treatments, they are drawn to Zen Spa’s facial beauty treatments, waxing, and weight-reduction treatments.
