Luxury Retail Therapy Armani For You Poggenpohl For Your Home0 Champs-Elysees in Paris; Mayfair in London; 5th Avenue in New York; Gangnam in Seoul. Every world capital has a street or a district that is synonymous with high-end retail. Boasting enough high fashion and designer labels to make shopaholics and style mavens swoon, these luxury spots have some of the highest concentration of great design on the planet.

On any given day, you can find fashionistas, Savile Row-clad businessmen and well-heeled tourists throng these enclaves of high style in search of sartorial treasures. And they are happy to pay a premium for the lifestyle inspiration these coveted brands deliver, in spades, across all segments: from fashion and cosmetics to accessories and interior design.

Dressing up the kitchen

As you hit these famous avenues and boulevards for a spot of retail therapy or window-shopping, you are more likely than not to encounter a familiar name — Poggenpohl. A bit of a tongue-twister, the brand might not be on everybody's lips, but it has certainly found its way into people’s hearts and homes. First in Germany, where the luxury kitchen brand was founded, then expanding to over 80 countries worldwide.

Founded by Friedemier Poggenpohl 130 years ago with a goal of “improving the kitchen”, the company has stayed true to the mission of designing and manufacturing the world’s most beautiful, premium kitchens.

The happy heart of the house, kitchens have come a long way since their days as a small room hidden at the back. And design solutions have evolved in lockstep, confidently putting the kitchen in the center of the modern household.

The rise of the kitchen island

Known for its sleek modern designs concepts, unmatched quality and a storied history of innovation, Poggenpohl has inspired a cult following among celebrities and connoisseurs of fine customized kitchen products.

With kitchen islands at the top of wish lists for many homeowners, the brand has pioneered numerous solutions for the open-plan rooms popular today: the +SEGMENTO Y line with its clear structures and conscious space; +MODO, offering an exciting contrast of open and closed; or +VENOVO – freer, more playful, more informal.

Built to last thanks to their timeless design and quality materials, Poggenpohl kitchens are manufactured at the company’s cutting-edge factory in northern Germany.

Revealing an impressive blend of hi-tech precision manufacturing and handcrafted perfection, the production process delivers the finest materials that display their natural beauty while remaining durable to sustain decades of use in all climates.

Poggenpohl in Vietnam

After more than 40 years of delivering kitchens in Asia, the agenda-setting label has become a household name among the region’s discerning private clients and a preferred business partner for high-end residential developments.

With increased brand recognition and growing demand in Vietnam, having a foothold in the country became one of the company’s priorities in Southeast Asia. But those who expected Vietnam’s flagship store to be an angular chrome-and-glass confection on the main drag, in tune with Poggenpohl’s other stores in capital cities, were in for a surprise.

Rather than setting up shop in Ly Thai To in Hanoi or on Dong Khoi in Saigon, Poggenpohl’s first studio in Vietnam opened in 2017 within Ecopark — a quiet residential community in Hanoi.

Informing the strategy was a lack of suitable properties in the city center, inspiring the brand to rethink its approach to location-scouting and opt in favor of a peaceful and idyllic location with open space and natural light.

"As we surveyed various properties in the city center, we found that there was always something we were not satisfied with,” explains Poggenpohl Vietnam Representative, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh. “Floor area was limited, ceilings were too low, or columns were too many. We felt that most properties wouldn’t allow us to create the studio atmosphere we were seeking.”

Destination design

After viewing a few locations in Ecopark, Poggenpohl immediately knew that they could “leverage the close relationship between the built and natural environment” using high ceilings and wide glass windows to bring the outside indoors and present the Poggenpohl brand in a unique way.

Tucked away among the towering decades-old palm trees and airy streets of Ecopark, Poggenpohl’s design studio in Vietnam inspires creativity and artistry: a true destination for design.

While no official announcement has been made, brand representatives have hinted at the opening, in 2021, of a new flagship studio at the prestigious Deutches Haus in Saigon’s District 1.

A Class A+ office building, the prestigious address would be a natural fit for the brand that is associated with prime real estate the world over. The anticipated expansion would align perfectly with its legacy as a hallmark German brand, giving Poggenpohl’s clients in Vietnam a new convenient location to engage with the Poggenpohl brand.
