June 2 was a smashing success for Portfolio Night — a famous concept where young creative talents get the chance to show off their portfolio. The event brought together 33 students from different universities in Ho Chi Minh City and 12 Creative Directors to discuss new and unique creative ideas.

Receive worthy feedback from creative directors

Happiness Saigon believes that creative ideas can make positive changes to the community. Portfolio Night, initiated by The One Club For Creativity, is a space dedicated to young creative talents to express themselves with interesting challenges.

The event took place at Le Cafe Des Stagiaires, where students had the opportunity to present their portfolios and receive "worthy" feedback from 12 creative directors from local and global agencies, such as Trong Nguyen from Dinosaur, Tien Vo from Ogilvy Vietnam, and Nichi Gatdula from Happiness Saigon.

The idea of bringing clean water to many children around the world

The event is not only a playground for "quality" portfolios but also a creative competition. Happiness Saigon has created a challenge with UNICEF with the theme "Clean water for children to wash hands".

This challenge requires young people to open up different perspectives on the problem to find an idea that is Simple + Surprising + Impactful to raise awareness of the problem and change behavior.

“Not everyone can easily access clean water just by turning on the faucet at home. There are people who have to walk a long distance to get water to use. For many people, watching 30-second ads on Youtube is too much and they just want to skip them as quickly as possible. But have you ever imagined if you had to watch a 30-minute ad? In fact, the 30 minutes you watch this ad is equal to the real-time it takes for many people to access clean water,” Van Anh said

Therefore, the idea "Skip The Ad, Skip The Trip" convinced the entire jury. The message is "If you want to skip the ad for your own convenience, then you give more people around the world the convenience of not having to walk 30 minutes to get to clean water."

The winner is Bui Van Anh, who earned the All-Star Award and will continue to participate in activities in the All-Stars Program organized by The One Club for Creativity, especially a job offer at Happiness Saigon.

Most importantly, Van Anh was given the opportunity to present her ideas and receive useful feedback so that she could perfect the original idea and turn the idea into an effective long-term campaign.

For the creative advertising industry in general and Happiness Saigon in particular, Portfolio Night 2022 affirms that advertising ideas can have a great influence on the community.
