There Are Still Travel Deals To Be Had, But Hurry Up
Domestic travel is all the rage these days (for obvious reasons), and so is bargain-hunting. Even those previously lukewarm to scoring last-minute deals or maximizing their point earnings have discovered the joys of generous resort credits and complimentary villa upgrades.
Best thing? Plenty of these promotions were made available during peak season too, so we could enjoy the beach without the gale force winds or take advantage of the slightly-less-scorching summer mornings, depending on the season and the province.
Launched at the start of the year to share in the spirit of hope, optimism and positivity associated with 2021, Marriott’s “Sweet Deals in Vietnam” promotion delivers exactly what the name promises — savings when traveling domestically. You do want to bring those travel plans of yours forward though, as the offer ends at the end of May.
Take the credit
The centrally-located Sheraton Hanoi Hotel is hard to beat if you are looking for a convenient base to explore the Old Quarter, Hanoi Opera House and indulge in a spot of shopping. With West Lake or Red River views from all the rooms, you might as well choose to stay in and make the most of your luxury accommodation that comes with high ceilings and a separate marble bathtub. As a bonus, the property’s all-day dining venue Oven D’or is rated among Hanoi’s top four restaurants on Tripadvisor and boasts an award-winning Executive Chef at the helm of the kitchen.
The Sweet Deal package for two includes breakfast, buffet dinner, afternoon tea, VND 200,000 hotel credit, complimentary transportation to select local attractions and room upgrades, among other benefits.

Bountiful breakfast
Anyone who has ever traveled with young children knows the importance of finding a reliable breakfast spot on the very first morning after arrival. Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa removes that headache by offering a complimentary breakfast buffet for two adults and two children under 6 years old. A stone's throw from the beautiful Nha Trang beach, the resort offers easy access to the city's social scene and off-site dining options too.
The infinity pool is arguably the main attraction and is expansive enough to accommodate lap swimmers, sun-worshippers and leisurely waders enjoying a panoramic view of the bay cocktail in hand. The property guarantees spectacular ocean vistas from all rooms and baby-like sleep thanks to Sheraton’s Signature Bed featuring a plush pillow-top construction that cradles you to sleep.

Ocean View Indulgence
The beachfront Four Points by Sheraton Danang also throws in a daily breakfast for two but the property’s main USP happens to be the fact that every room has a balcony — a rarity in Danang, we are told. When not hanging out on said balcony, you can hit the beach, dine at the signature restaurant The Eatery, kick back with a sundowner or two at Horizon Bar or book a spa treatment with a view.
If you want to venture further afield, the property is happy to arrange day trips to the nearby UNESCO Heritage Sites - Hoi An ancient town, Hue Imperial City and My Son sanctuary.

A Saigon staycation
This is a sophisticated city staycation done right. No waiting around in the lobby with a glass of lemongrass tea — early check-in (and late check-out) are included in the price of Renaissance Riverside Saigon’s winning package. Also included are daily breakfast, a 30% discount on F&B, bonus Marriott Bonvoy points for the members of the chain’s reward program and more privileges.
We particularly like the R Club room deal. Located on a higher floor, it offers executive lounge access where you can nibble on complimentary food pretty much all day, including breakfast and late night snacks, as well as sipping on free-flow cocktails. You even get two complimentary hours at the 19th floor board room, if you want to go fancy on that Zoom call.

The most Instagrammable hotel
JW Marriott Phu Quoc The Emerald Bay is extremely over-the-top, but in a good way. A creation of Bangkok-based starchitect Bill Bensley, the resort’s interiors are so photogenic that even those not usually given to posting their humble brags on social media might find themselves positioning for a lobby selfie.
The pastel-toned rooms are sea-facing and extremely spacious, with the standard room offering a whopping 53 sqm of space, while villas boast sparkling plunge pools. The signature Pink Pearl Restaurant is a beautifully restored oceanfront mansion, which serves as a dramatic backdrop for exquisite French fine dining paired with the finest vintages.
The Sweet Deal entitles you to special rates on a range of rooms, plus daily hotel credit to be redeemed for accommodation upgrades, food and beverages, spa treatments and more.
