On the busy Nguyễn Đình Chiểu street, you find the lofty building with a small, urban jungle that houses District 3’s chocolate heaven. Pass the cocoa tree in the front yard and you’re inside, getting ready to choose from their chocolate truffle options.
The menu is small, but sweet. And I don’t mean sweet too literally. At The Cocoa Project, they found the balance between the sweetness and the natural bitterness of the cocoa bean. Their palate is ever-evolving and really cares about adapting to the local taste buds. Like their chocolate-covered cashews. Not in the mood for chocolate? They also provide some savory lunch specials, yummy juices, and savory cakes.
The Cocoa Project doesn’t only care about local taste buds, they also care about taking care of the local environment. Working with local farmers, and creating their entire bar from recycled plastic,... we love to see a business making efforts to be more sustainable!
I would visit this place for an afternoon pick-me-up. And, yes, it’s also a nice spot to work from. You can spot students working hard, colleagues having a meeting, and even designers with a mini-mannequin working on a dress design. Need a little more private space? You can even rent out certain spaces. If you have something important planned, you can get yourself a meeting room for 200K VND an hour.
And for those who are constantly looking for the best background for their Instagram pics: yes, the café also has a great aesthetic.
