In less than a month, the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the biggest annual festivals in Vietnam, will take place. Hang Ma, a street in Hanoi famous for selling toys and paper goods, is now more colorful than ever and filled with various goods such as star-shaped lanterns, toy figurines, and masks for the festival.

If Tet has the famous chung cake, the Mid-Autumn Festival has its mooncakes. Not only are they delicious treats on this particular occasion but they are also a perfect present for each other to express gratitude.

Therefore, every Mid-Autumn Festival, many hotels in Vietnam release their collection of mooncakes with different flavors that capture the essence of the traditional holiday and serve as luxury must-haves.

The Deluxe box includes four mooncakes with green tea lotus seed salted egg, cranberries, green beans, melon seeds, and black sesame flavors at VND 680,000. With Premium boxes, you can have three different options: 6 cakes (VND 680,000 VND), five cakes and one premium tea (VND 1,180,000), or three cakes and one bottle of wine (VND 1,280,000). For the 5-cake box, you get a new flavor of lotus seeds with dark chocolate, hazelnuts, and almonds. For the 6-cake box, a coconut milk mooncake is added. However, these two boxes were sold out on August 10.

Hilton Hanoi Opera brings a fashionable touch to its collection this year by introducing a premium and limited handbag. The modern and luxurious tote bags with leather handles and exquisite details come with three mooncakes paired with top-class red wine or whiskey, starting with a VND 2,180,000.

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi draws inspiration for this year's collection from the authentic Parisian “savoir-faire,” dedicating its works to the “Grand Dame of 1901” with a French touch to several flavors. With more than 25 years of accompanying Hanoian tastes, Sofitel mooncake collections have long been known to exceed all expectations.

Metropole's culinary team creates preservative-free mooncakes that are hand-baked from authentic recipes and infused with Metropole's gourmet touch. Traditional Mix, Black Sesame and Coconut, Lotus and Mixed Dried Fruit, Green Bean, Apricot and Salted Egg, Blueberry and Roasted Almond, and Candied Orange and Grand-Marnier are the six flavors produced for 2022.

The Timeless Beauty collection introduces another six flavors: lotus seed, cranberry, chia seed, almond green tea, coconut milk, and taro almond. The Silver box (VND 820,000) has four mooncakes with chia seed, lotus seed, cranberry, and coconut milk, while a Crystal box has six mooncakes, available at VND 1,020,000. With an addition of a Terre Forti Merlot, the Diamond box has a price of VND 1,620,000.

Pan Pacific Hanoi

Pan Pacific Hanoi presents an exquisite collection of creative mooncake gems "Khai Hoa Dac Nguyet" for the Mid-Autumn Festival 2022, inspired by chrysanthemums, one of the four "noble plants" in Vietnamese culture, which represents fortitude, patience, and hope amid adversity.

The stunning chrysanthemum arch features a delicate pattern of stacked blooms and border strokes embossed in a gold emulsion. There are four flavors available in this collection: premium seafood with French red wine sauce, tropical five-fruit cocktail, Saigonese radish with pork floss, and coconut milk. Featuring three unmatched versions - Premium, Deluxe, and Imperial, Park Hyatt offers four mooncakes in each box. A Chamomile and Earl Grey tea box from Dammann Frères are included in the Deluxe box.
