Gojek Teams Up With Selex Motors To Expand E-Bike Program In Vietnam
Gojek, the popular ride-hailing and delivery service, is joining forces with the Vietnamese electric vehicle startup, Selex Motors, to bring Selex Camel electric motorbikes into its operations across Vietnam. These e-bikes will be used for ride-hailing, food delivery, and logistics services.
The partnership is expected to bring significant benefits to drivers, such as a 35% reduction in fuel costs and a 50% cut in maintenance expenses. Additionally, drivers will have the convenience of free battery swaps at 30 locations in Hanoi and 40 locations in Ho Chi Minh City.
Sumit Rathor, General Manager of Gojek Vietnam, stated, "This partnership aligns with GoTo Group's commitment to achieving zero emissions and transitioning our entire fleet to 100% electric vehicles by 2030."
This collaboration follows a series of partnerships Gojek has established in Vietnam this year. In May, Gojek began a pilot program with Dat Bike, another Vietnamese electric vehicle company, featuring their e-motorbikes. Additionally, Gojek recently announced a partnership with MoMo, integrating the GoFood food delivery service into the MoMo payments app.
In Indonesia, GoTo Group has a joint venture called Electrum with the energy company TBS Energi Utama. Electrum aims to develop infrastructure for electric two-wheelers, including motorcycles, batteries, and charging stations.
