There’s a new library in town. And it’s the perfect place for whisky connoisseurs, collectors, and consumers.

William Grant & Sons’ The Distillers Library officially opened its first-ever, invite-only private lounge in Vietnam, the second in Southeast Asia, and the third worldwide. It is designed for clients who share a common interest in limited-edition collections, exceptional bottlings, and precious whiskies.

On May 10, the independent and family-owned distiller announced that a unique space that brings years of the Grant family’s storied legacy is now in Ho Chi Minh City. The private lounge comes with rare expressions of The Balvenie, Glenfiddich, and the lost gems of Ladyburn distillery. Located at 62 Mac Thi Buoi, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, HCMC, The Distillers Library comprises three different spaces for retail, discovery, and exceptional hospitality.

The retail store is open to all consumers who wish to browse and purchase bottlings from the core to the prestige range of William Grant & Sons. Guests will also be able to commune and dive a little deeper into the distiller’s world through intimate events and tastings.

The Distillers Library also houses a private room, where a select few will experience the highest level of hospitality. Hosted by the distiller’s brand ambassadors, invited guests will discover a repository of wisdom through an intimate encounter with the rarest and most precious liquids in the whisky world from the exclusive archives of the William Grant & Sons family.

The family-owned distiller is rich in its history. It was founded in 1887 in Dufftown, Scotland, by William Grant and his nine children and is still in the family with the 6th generation in charge now.

Satya Sharma, William Grant & Sons’ regional managing director of Southeast Asia and Australasia said that they are aware of the demand for luxury products and experiences in Vietnam, especially in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. They want to provide “a conducive and inspiring space” for the consumers to “indulge in luxury whiskies and the unseen wonders that William Grant & Sons has to offer.”

He added, “With The Distillers Library, we are redefining the traditional private room experience and facilitating true appreciation of these rare and precious liquids through knowledge sharing among those deeply passionate about the art and science of whisky.”

William Grant & Sons first opened a distillery in Scotland in 1887. And according to the family's archive, each precious whisky at The Distillers Library tells a tale of heritage and tradition.

Daniel Cohen, the managing director of Lighthouse Group Indochina (LGI) said they’re thrilled to partner with a company with such a strong legacy and amazing brand stories to tell. LGI is the exclusive importer of William Grant & Sons Scotch whisky and spirits to Vietnam.

“Vietnam has experienced tremendous socio-economic growth over the last decade, and its segment of affluent individuals continues to grow in discernment and numbers, with Knight Frank estimating a 32% growth by 2025,” he added. “It is the perfect location to bring select individuals access to the rare archives of William Grant & Sons.”
