This Quiet Beach In Thai Binh Is Slowly Getting The Attention Of Local Travelers
Coming from a challenging lockdown late last year, Vietnamese people increasingly favor “hidden gems” for their escapades. The lesser the crowd, the more meaningful the destination becomes. This has led to local travelers discovering the quiet Quang Lang beach in Thai Binh.
Quang Lang is located in Thuy Hai Village, Thai Thuy District, Thai Binh. Note that, compared to Quang Ninh or Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh was never really popular for its beaches. At the moment, the Quang Lang beach is still a wild beach — yet to be developed for tourism. It is, however, where locals come to fish.
You may have heard the term “infinity pool,” describing a swimming pool that stretches into the sky. The same description applies to Quang Lang beach. The name “infinity beach" was born from the fact that the beach looks as if it goes on to the sky, boundless and endless. These days, many tourists flock to Quang Lang to capture Insta-worthy moments.
What to prepare
Before reaching the beach, you must go through a mangrove forest that stretches 3-5km. So prepare a pair of boots to avoid getting wet. As Quang Lang beach is not a developed tourist attraction, there is no space for storing your belongings. If possible, pack light and only include necessities in your bags. You can also bring a folded chair which you can rest on.
How to get there
You can go to Quang Lang beach either by car or by motorbike. It only takes approximately 2 hours from Hanoi to get there; it’s about 38km from the city center of Thai Binh. If you do not want to drive, taking a coach is also an option, but you still need to rent a motorbike to get to the beach.
How to capture the perfect pictures
Timing is critical in taking pictures of beaches. For Quang Lang beach, the best time is at sunrise, from 5 to 6 am. If you travel from Hanoi, the journey will have to start the night before to reach the destination in time.
Here’s an essential tip before you plot your itinerary: Check the tide level before your trip. The lower the tide level, the better the scene because the beach becomes more mirror-like, reflecting the blue sky. Several photographers say the perfect condition is when water reaches your ankle.
When you’re done taking snaps or posting stories on Instagram, take a moment to observe the waves, feel the breeze and free your mind from stress. Quang Lang may have yet to garner attention from travelers, but it’s no less a perfect destination for a quick escape from the hustles and bustles of life.
