Where to eat & drink
NOSH Saigon May 2019 at GRAIN Cooking Studio
NOSH is an annual, but soon to be more regular, program featuring a line-up of Saigon’s food and beverage industry-leading talents.
A ticketed affair, NOSH this year features a USA-themed dinner on 29th May headlined by chefs Gabe Boyer of Soul Burger, Peter Cuong Franklin of Anan Saigon, Tristan Ngo of Skewers, and Calvin Bui of El Camino.
On 30th May, the Gastro Mob-themed dinner features Arnaud Daleau from the Park Hyatt Saigon, Julien Perraudin of Quince, Camilla Bailey of MAD House, and George Bloomfield of Stoker. This rockstar group of chefs only comes together a few times a year. Don’t miss it!

Godmother Bake & Brunch
A second brunch option in District 1, Godmother Bake & Brunch is a creation from the team at Octo Tapas. We love their spin on traditional Vietnamese dishes such as the Secreto Cơm Tấm. And of course, don’t miss the usual avocado-based brunch items at Godmother. We also like the location, a 3rd level perch overlooking the iconic Dong Khoi street.
Location: 4 Dong Khoi, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
Brewed & Hung
A new taphouse by Platinum Beer named Brewed & Hung emerged just in time to show us their take on pairing smoky barbeque with craft beer. The combination of Argentinian meat boards and Platinum craft brews is not to be missed. Also, their new lineup of Mosaic craft beers is something to discover for the craft beer goer.
Location: 74/3 Hai Ba Trung, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
VCR – the roastery
Vietnam Coffee Republic is one of the leaders of specialty coffee in Vietnam and we’re excited to see its new branch tucked inside one of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai’s alleyways. Much wider and deeper than its other three locations in Saigon, VCR the roastery was designed with a bistro feel with generous seating inside and outside. You’ll also find ample space at its bar and near the open kitchen. Like the other locations, you can find a set of Airbnb rooms upstairs if you’re looking for a new place to send your out-of-town guests.
Location: 7/1 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
Haan – Drink & Eatery
Located in the heart of Saigon, Haan – Drink & Eatery restaurant is “seasoned with love,” as they called it. It’s an ideal place for bantering with friends while enjoying the delectable healthy meal made from seasonal and local ingredients. They also serve classic cocktails if you prefer a tranquil atmosphere to complement the sunset on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street.
Location: 4th Floor, Saigon Garden, 99 Nguyen Hue, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
Saigon Sensation – Lounge & Dining Cruises
Located in the Bason Cruise Terminal, Saigon Sensation offers the best of both worlds: the romantic, picturesque view of Saigon River and the dynamic view of District 1 – all on a river boat. But don’t be deceived – the venue is a la carte, meaning you don’t need a ticket to board. Just bring yourself and your friends, and order as you like. It could be just one drink or an entire night out on the latest boat cruise to hit the Saigon River.
