In Saigon, the swing scene is dynamic and ever-growing. Founded by a group of enthusiasts in 2006, Saigon Swing Cats have become a vibrant and welcoming community, drawing dancers from all walks of life to their lively events, and bringing together both seasoned dancers and newcomers. Joining this welcoming group is CTY Kitchen + Bar, which hosts one of many social dances every Wednesday. A highlight of Vietnam’s swing calendar is the annual Vietnam Lindy Exchange (VLX) since 2009, a fun weekend of Lindy Hop dance in the UNESCO Heritage town of Hoi An, which attracts around 250 dancers from 20 countries. This gathering is a testament to the growing popularity of Lindy Hop in Vietnam and the dedication of its local communities. The Vietnam Lindy Exchange is a celebration of dance, culture, and international friendship, where dancers come together to share their love for Lindy Hop and learn from each other.
