Vietnam's F&B Sector in 2023: Resilient Amid the Storm
"Resilience" is the defining keyword for Vietnam's food and beverage (F&B) industry in the past year. According to Kirin Capital, despite 2023 being a challenging year for many economic sectors, Vietnam's F&B industry achieved an impressive growth rate of 11.47%, with total revenue exceeding VND 590 trillion. Additionally, a report by iPOS.vn reveals that 79.6% of F&B businesses have reported improving business conditions and sufficient resources for future development.
These figures highlight the domestic F&B market's stability amid the economic downturn and its positive strides, particularly in digital transformation. Moreover, 2023 introduced a new competitive arena: the Michelin race. F&B brands are now striving to enhance food quality, improve services, and perfect the customer experience to earn a spot in the prestigious Michelin Guide.
Vietnam's F&B sector has also become an attractive destination for foreign investors, especially through franchise agreements. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, over the past decade, more than 50% of franchise deals in Vietnam have been in the F&B sector.
Amid this dynamic backdrop, the Flavors Conference 2024 (formerly known as the Vietnam Food & Beverage Conference), an annual event under the Flavors Vietnam framework, will return with the theme “Building a Resilient and Thriving F&B Industry in Vietnam.” This event promises to provide valuable insights, latest trends, and strategic solutions to further strengthen and elevate Vietnam's F&B sector on both domestic and international stages.
A Comprehensive F&B Forum
Since 2020, the conference has created a vibrant platform for sharing and discussing the past, present, and future of Vietnam's F&B industry. This year, co-hosted by Vietcetera and Mastercard, the Flavors Conference 2024 will take place on September 18th at the New World Saigon Hotel, expected to attract over 300 attendees, including influential figures in the F&B industry. Participants will range from top business leaders and SME owners to investors, strategic consultants, journalists, media professionals, and agency companies specializing in F&B.
This diverse assembly of perspectives ensures a rich, multidimensional dialogue that will drive the industry forward and elevate Vietnam's standing on the global culinary map. Attendees can look forward to engaging sessions that not only highlight current trends and challenges but also offer actionable strategies to navigate and thrive in this dynamic industry landscape.
What's New This Year?
Themed Matching Session
The conference will feature a dedicated area where investors, business owners, and industry experts in the F&B sector with shared interests (such as cashless payment solutions and food delivery services) can freely connect. This initiative aims to open up potential collaboration opportunities and foster the development of a cohesive and robust F&B community.
New Exhibitor Hall
Another exciting addition is the debut of the exhibitor hall, which will host up to 40 brands and companies. This space provides an excellent opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their products and services to a targeted audience of food and beverage professionals.
