Sông Cái Distillery Celebrates US Launch With “Spirit of Việt Nam” Dinner And Panel Discussion

In New York City next week, Vietcetera is joining forces with the award-winning Sông Cái Distillery and beloved Vietnamese restaurant Madame Vo to host “Spirit of Việt Nam,” a special cocktail dinner celebrating the launch of Sông Cái’s gins in the United States. Offered for two seatings on December 7, at 6pm or 8:30pm, tickets include three courses of Vietnamese food paired with Vietnamese gin cocktails, as well as a discussion on Vietnamese culture moderated by Vietcetera International Digital Director Dan Q. Dao.

For this one-night-only menu, Madame Vo will serve up three traditional Vietnamese dishes: Fried Spring Rolls, Pomelo Salad with Tiger Prawns, and Short Rib Bo Kho (Beef Stew) with French baguettes. The dishes will be paired with cocktails made using the first-ever Vietnamese gin from Sông Cái, including the Vietnam Dry Gin and Vietnam Floral Gin.

Already beloved in Asia but available in the US for the first time, Sông Cái is a first-of-its-kind Vietnamese distillery that bottles the taste of indigenous Vietnamese botanicals. Crafted and bottled in northern Vietnam, the inaugural dry gin is a love letter to Vietnam’s mountains, loaded with notes of local dried fruit, spices, and seasoned wood. The distillery practices sustainable production, working in harmony with multi-generational foraging families to preserve the richness of the land.

In addition to food and drink, guests will also enjoy a mini panel discussion curated by Vietcetera International. During this conversation on culture and identity, guests will hear from the likes of Madame Vo Chef Jimmy Ly, Sông Cái Distillery founder Daniel Nguyen and activist and educator Cassandra Lam of The Cosmos. As part of our mission to spotlight diaspora voices, Vietcetera International will be providing coverage of this panel.

If you’re in New York City, you can grab tickets for the Spirit of Việt Nam here. Tickets are $85 and include three course of Vietnamese food, as well as original Vietnamese gin cocktails. Limited bottles of Sông Cái will be available for purchase.
