Cultural Heritage, Sustainable Agriculture, & Indigenous Communities in Supply Chains

Many of Vietnam’s 53 ethnic minority groups form an integral part of the country’s agriculture supply chain and use traditional farming techniques adapted to their distinct climates and geographies. In this workshop we’ll hear from Vietnam’s first artisanal gin maker, Song Cai Distillery, and Kilomet 109, Hanoi’s internationally-renowned sustainable fashion house, on how they work hand in hand with indigenous farming communities to grow raw materials using culturally distinct and sustainable methods. These materials are then used to make modern products for domestic consumption and export that reflect Vietnam’s cultural heritage in both design and composition.
